Where in My House Should I Put My HEPA Air Purifiers?
The proper place of air purifiers will depend on what type of purifier you have, the size of the room you are going to place it in and the quality of air you want to clean. We advise, for bedrooms, a more quiet purifier even with a fewer air exchanges at night than a living room where there are more allergens and contaminants exposed. Placing air purifiers in your room will be best. However, some gases and particulates are diffused rapidly so always maintain an equivalent distance between the particulates and the air purifier because the particle count will be reduced during air purifying. When they spread across the room, they will eventually be drawn into the vacuum that is created by the air purifier’s fan. Therefore, placing your air purifier on the ends or sides of a bedroom, the air purifier will be able to catch and filter these minute particles on the other side of the room.
If you are suffering from allergies like allergy to dust, the appropriate pace for your air purifier is still in your bedroom. It is important to have clean air in your bedroom since you spend more of your life there. But if you are allergic to pets and animal danders, then you can put an air purifier in the room where your pets spend most of their time. It is always safer to keep your pets out of your bedroom. Always keep in mind that you should not put an air purifier in the corners of your bedroom. Your air purifiers must be at least placed a couple of feet away from the walls. Doing this with you air purifier will supply maximum air flow. Below are some general guidelines in proper placement of air purifiers.
• Put your air purifiers close as possible to sources of contaminants, allergens, particulates and pollution.
• Place purifiers in a well ventilated area of the room to help in effective and speedy air cleaning
• Keep your air purifiers away from curtains or anything that could get caught in suction equipment.
• Keep well away from anything that could cause interference
• Keep out of reach of small children and pets to prevent unit accidentally being knocked over, or tripping over cords.
• Don’t allow your air purifiers to other appliances, such as a fan, to blow directly on to the purifier
• If space is a real issue, you could try a compact purifier that plugs straight into the wall
